The e-services design system Veera reached a new level — unity, accessibility and benefits for the user.

The Estonian public sector e-services design system, Veera, is a standardized framework of visual design and user experience components that supports the development of consistent, accessible, and user-centered digital services. The system comprises a comprehensive set of user interface components, design principles, and supporting resources intended for product managers, service owners, designers, and development teams involved in the creation and maintenance of public sector e-services.

The objective of this project was to enhance and further develop the Veera design system. During this phase of development, the focus was on advancing the system from its Pre-Alpha stage to the first stable release, version 1.0.0.

As part of the project, we conducted a thorough assessment of the existing design system, identified and mapped user needs, and implemented a series of improvements to the Figma component library. We also developed comprehensive component documentation and created supporting HTML and CSS styles to facilitate seamless integration of the design system into development workflows. The project resulted in a complete and mature design system, accompanied by the tools and resources necessary for its effective adoption and long-term maintenance.
