Kuldmuna

Kuldmuna ("Golden Egg") is Estonia's most prestigious creative and marketing awards festival. It recognizes the best work in advertising, branding, design, PR, digital, events, and marketing communications. The competition is organized by the Estonian Marketing Association, TULI (Turundajate Liit).

For Estonian creative agencies, winning a Kuldmuna is similar to winning a national industry championship. The awards are widely used to demonstrate creative excellence to clients, attract talent, and build agency reputation. Many agencies prominently showcase their Kuldmuna wins in their portfolios and award histories.

Kuldmuna was launched in the 1990s by the Estonian advertising industry to recognize outstanding creative work. It later came under the stewardship of TULI and has grown into Estonia's largest creativity festival. The competition has been held for more than 25 years and remains the country's oldest major advertising and marketing award.

Winning experience

Being part of the team that won the Golden Egg Award in consecutive years (2024 and 2025) was a career highlight. Both projects were recognized in the Event / Event Communication category, and I was responsible for creating the case study videos presented to the award jury.

The most rewarding aspect of this work was transforming days of event footage, behind-the-scenes moments, competition highlights, and performance statistics into a compelling three-minute story. Every second mattered, requiring careful editing and storytelling to capture the essence and impact of the project within the strict time limit.

For the 2024 edition, I not only edited the case study video but also filmed the majority of the footage used in it, covering the event and producing the official aftermovie content. In 2025, my role shifted more toward post-production, where I curated and assembled footage from multiple creators documenting the event. Alongside the case study video, I focused on capturing authentic daily moments and producing short recap videos that highlighted each day of the competition.

Being trusted with such an important part of the project and seeing it contribute to two consecutive award-winning campaigns was incredibly meaningful. The experience reinforced the value of strong visual storytelling and the impact that well-crafted content can have in communicating the success of an event.

2023 afermovie filming

The European Disc Golf Championships 2023 marked a historic milestone as the first world-level disc golf event ever held in Estonia, taking place at the iconic Tallinna Lauluväljak. As the sole videographer with full-access credentials, I was responsible for documenting the tournament from every angle—following players throughout their rounds, capturing key highlights, audience reactions, and the unique atmosphere that made the event unforgettable.

Working as a one-person production team, I managed the entire creative process from start to finish, including filming, interviews, editing, color grading, and sound design. Throughout the championship, I interacted closely with players and staff, creating authentic behind-the-scenes content and player interviews that helped tell the story of the tournament beyond the competition itself.

The final 16-minute aftermovie was a major undertaking, requiring over a week of intensive editing and the careful selection of more than 800 video clips. Maintaining audience engagement over such a long runtime demanded a fast-paced editing style, with frequent scene changes, dynamic storytelling, and a strong balance between action, emotion, and atmosphere. The completed film was later broadcast on international television through Telia and continues to be used in promotional materials, serving as a lasting showcase of one of the most significant sporting events ever hosted in Estonia.
